Continuing our 20 year partnership with Airbus, in 2014 we were awarded the contract to supply 130,000km of space and weight saving cables for the Airbus A380 and other Airbus models - that's enough cable to wrap around the Earth 3 times over!

As part of the contract, we design, manufacture and supply the 500km of quality cabling needed for each commercial A380 to transport more than 7 million people every day.

For years our hook-up, power, data and fire resistant cables have made up 95 percent of the total cabling on each aircraft. But in 2018, we went even further. Airbus needed a new generation of aluminium cables that were compatible with lugs and terminations. So, inspired by cables used on American space shuttles and on the Mars Exploration Rover, we created a new range of cables with tape-wrapped insulation. This innovation meant the cables were 5% lighter than previous cables and are now being rolled out across other Airbus aircraft.
